Whether you are a "die hard" camper or just a "once a year camper," cooking over a fire should be part of your camping experience. The following are some of our favorites for fun, convenience and of course, taste. Keep a look-out - we refresh our online selections. Print them out so you can take them along on your next stay with us.
Breakfast Donuts
Ingredients:
- 2 Cans of Biscuits
- Cinnamon/Sugar Mixture
- Butter and Melted Butter
Directions: Unroll each biscuit and shape into a long strip, spread butter on inside and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Wrap biscuit around a clean stick. Toast over fire or flame until light brown. When done, push off the stick onto a plate. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Mexican S’mores
Ingredients:
- Flour Tortillas - Fajita Size
- Mini Marshmallows
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Peanut Butter
Directions: Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on each tortilla (they are so good - plan on 2 per person.) Sprinkle marshmallows and chocolate chips (don't use too much of either as they will melt.) Roll up tight, wrap in aluminum foil and place on grill over hot coals. Depending on coals, cook 5-10 minutes, turning often. They should be soft when done.
Tin Foil Dinner
Ingredients:
- Hamburger
- Carrots
- Potato
- Onion
- Favorite Seasoning
- Butter
Directions: Take a piece of tin foil and lay it out in front of you. Take a piece of hamburger and lay it down on the tin foil. Surround your meat with veggies. Season to taste. Add butter to prevent sticking. Set over campfire or stove for about 30-45 min. Carefully remove from the fire. Last but certainly not least, enjoy!
