Campfire Songs

We all know that while camping, nothing beats a campfire. It just "makes" the whole camping experience more memorable.

We found the following song(s) that parents and children may like to share while the fire sizzles and snaps!

The Twelve Days of Camping

On the first day of camping
My sister showed to me
A woodpecker in a pine tree

On the second day of camping
My sister showed to me
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the third day of camping
My sister showed to me
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the fourth day of camping
My sister showed to me
Four calling loons
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the fifth day of camping
My sister showed to me
Five dragonflies
Four calling loons
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the sixth day of camping
My sister showed to me
Six raccoons raiding
Five dragonflies
Four calling loons
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the seventh day of camping
My sister showed to me
Seven owls a-swooping
Six raccoons raiding

Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the eighth day of camping
My sister showed to me

And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the tenth day of camping
My sister showed to me
Ten fireflies a-glowing
Nine spiders spinning
Eight frogs a-hopping
Seven owls a-swooping
Six raccoons raiding
Five dragonflies
Four calling loons
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the eleventh day of camping
My sister showed to me
Eleven beavers building
Ten fireflies a-glowing
Nine spiders spinning
Eight frogs a-hopping
Seven owls a-swooping
Six raccoons raiding
Five dragonflies
Four calling loons
Three startled deer
Two porcupines
And a woodpecker in a pine tree

On the twelfth day of camping
My sister showed to me
Twelve stars a-shining
Eleven beavers building
Ten fireflies a-glowing
Nine spiders spinning
Eight frogs a-hopping
Seven owls a-swooping
Six raccoons raiding
Five dragonflies
Four calling loons

On Top of Spaghetti

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.

It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.

The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.

The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.

So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.

This Land Is Your Land

Chorus:

This land is your land This land is my land
From California to the New York island;
From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and Me.
As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.

Chorus

I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.

Chorus

When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
This land was made for you and me.

Chorus

As I went walking I saw a sign there
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."
But on the other side it didn't say nothing,
That side was made for you and me.

Chorus

In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?

Chorus

Nobody living can ever stop me,
As I go walking that freedom highway;
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me.

Chorus
