Scope:

 

Reservationists welcome and assist guests and potential guests. Team members are responsible for answering telephones, making reservations, checking in guests, processing payments and deposits and providing all guests with exceptional guest service.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Maintain and project a positive attitude and professional demeanor in person and on the telephone
  • Answer telephones and direct calls appropriately
  • Process reservations with a great attention to detail
  • Complete the registration process with guests upon their arrival at the campground
  • Assist guests with information requests
  • Assist guests with their store purchases and rentals as needed
  • Quickly and accurately take in large amounts of cash and make change operating cash registers and comply with OFCR quality standards of cash handling
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds
  • Be familiar with items sold and services offered by OFCR, EFWS, C/C & WEI
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk and surrounding work areas
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental Health & Safety regulations
  • Greet guests, team members and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, answer questions, provide direction and assist in resolving concerns
  • Upsell products and services (EFWS tickets/packages/cabanas, C/C tickets/food service & delivery, rentals boats/tv`s/DVDs/cornhole, firewood sales.

Scope:

 

Grounds Crew team members are responsible for the appearance, cleanliness and maintenance of the outside areas of the Old Forge Camping Resort. To include: RV & tent sites, outside areas of cabins & cottages, satellite bathrooms, pavilion, Main Lodge, playgrounds and beach area. Grounds Crew are also responsible for the thorough cleaning of the inside of cabins as guests depart. Grounds Crew positions involve working outdoors in all weather conditions. Grounds Crew team members have a high level of guest interaction.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Follow strict guidelines with regard to safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds, including paths, parking lots and lawns
  • Clean sites, inside cabins and outdoor areas of both cabins and cottages
  • Perform general maintenance duties as needed (raking, mowing, painting, etc.)
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move objects
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental Health & Safety regulations
  • Safely drive and maneuver a golf cart (Must possess a valid driver license) and adhere to policy regarding speed and location
  • Greet guests and team members in a professional and friendly manner

Scope:

 

Housekeepers are responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the inside of cottages, restrooms, laundry rooms, shower facilities, arcade, family lounge and Main Lodge at the Old Forge Camping Resort. Housekeepers have a high level of guest interaction.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Efficiently and effectively clean Cottages, Restrooms, Showers, Laundry Rooms, Arcade, Main Lodge and Family Lounge (sweep, mop, dust, trash removal)
  • Follow strict guidelines with regard to Health & Safety procedures
  • Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move objects
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental Health & Safety regulations

Scope:

The primary responsibilities of the security guard are to provide a visual presence and maintain a safe and secure environment at the Old Forge Camping Resort. Additionally, the security guard must exercise good judgment and professional guest service skills, appropriately interact with the general public and response agencies, and maintain a professional appearance. Security Guards may also be scheduled to patrol Enchanted Forest Water Safari to ensure that it’s secure overnight. This includes making sure buildings are locked, ensuring there is no suspicious activity occurring & periodically patrolling our on-site employee housing, making sure tenants are compliant with the assigned quiet hours.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Performs the protection of persons and/or property from harm, theft, and/or unlawful activity within the limitations of a New York State licensed security guard, referring criminal activity to local and/or state law enforcement agencies as appropriate.
  • Physically and visually secure buildings, fences and perimeters, and company property by performing the following duties:
    • Ensure gates, entrances, and exits are locked and outbuildings are secure
    • Securing the Main Lodge at closing
    • Put out keys for late arrivals at OFCR
    • Direct guests to their sites at OFCR
  • Ensure the orderly enjoyment of campground facilities through surveillance, education and prevention
  • Perform courteous guest services by answering campground or general area questions
  • Patrol, both on foot and/or with a company vehicle, to detect and appropriately react to:
    • OFCR policy violations to include speed limit, beach closing and quiet time
    • Fire or safety hazards
    • Persons in restricted areas
    • Commission of unlawful acts (in conjunction with local/state law enforcement as appropriate)
    • Unattended coolers/food/drinks at sites or within campground
  • Efficiently and courteously respond to and manage guest complaints and emergency calls and determine best course of action; respond to maintenance calls-handle minor maintenance issues and refer major issues to management.
  • Routinely perform bathroom checks to ensure facilities are clean, stocked and working properly; perform general custodial services as necessary.
  • Respond to wild animal nuisance calls and take action to keep guests safe.
  • Accurately and efficiently provide clear documentation and written incidence reports as required.
  • Perform other duties, within the scope of certification, as required for the efficient operation of the business.
  • Perform regular rounds of entire campground and accurately report times and findings for morning managers.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess current New York State licensure as a security guard or be eligible to obtain NYS security guard licensure prior to hire.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnight shifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds is required; must be capable of conveying and receiving detailed instructions and important information.
  • The ability to diffuse situations using verbal communication skills is crucial. The ability to think critically in emergency situations and use good judgement is imperative. Display excellent decision-making skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Prior security guard or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
  • Be flexible in working changing shifts to suit the needs of the business including overnight shifts.
  • Able to work in a high pressure fast paced environment.

Scope:

 

Retail team members work in our camp stores assisting guests with their store purchases and rentals. Team members are responsible for accurately running cash registers, restocking, maintaining a clean and orderly retail environment and providing our guests with exceptional service.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Maintain and project a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Observe and be aware of security risks & theft and participate in loss prevention
  • Stock, restock, inventory and refresh merchandise
  • Follow company procedure in stock rotation of all food and beverage items
  • Assist guests with their purchases, including gifts, snacks, souvenirs and rentals (boats, lifejackets, TV’s, DVD’s)
  • Quickly and accurately take in large amounts of cash and make change operating cash registers and comply with OFCR quality standards of cash handling.
  • Comply with company policy and NYS law by completing training for the sale of Age Related Products.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds
  • Be familiar with items sold and services offered by OFCR, EFWS, C/C & WEI
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and surrounding work areas
  • Make coffee and keep coffee bar area neat, clean and stocked
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental Health & Safety regulations
  • Greet guests, team members and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, answer questions, provide direction and assist in resolving concerns
  • Be knowledgeable of opening & closing procedures and requirements

Scope of Position:

The shuttle bus driver holding a CDL will drive a 66-passenger shuttle bus doing a continual loop between the Old Forge Camping Resort and Enchanted Forest Water Safari. This is a seasonal position from late June through Labor Day.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide efficient friendly service to our guests
  • Ensure the safe and timely pick-up and drop-off of our guests at designated locations
  • Practice safe and cautious driving

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must have a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be willing to obtain prior to employment
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass the DOT physical and drug screen
  • Previous passenger or public driving experience is preferred
  • Schedule flexibility and weekend availability is a must
